Hey friends, I wanted to share something here in a little more long form. Or scroll to the bottom for a secret discount code on all pedals! I’ve been working on a concept for some more items that aren’t necessarily 1981 Inventions specific, but more just trying to come up with cool designs of stuff that I would wear. Most of the concepts are a little more subtle, not my typical oversize branding, and that feels right to me right now.
So many things in my life right now feel chaotic and out of control, and in the world as a whole. I realize it’s really hard out there right now! And the main thing I’m feeling is wanting to get back to that good energy. Inside my head has been a tough place to be lately. I have a lot of fear. It feels like too many things are out of my control, or impossible entirely. I’ve had a difficult time finding any sort of rhythm or balance or peace, and that makes a lot of things feel hard. Anyway, I don’t mean to go on about that right now.
What I want to talk about is something that I feel good about. I’m excited about this. It feels fun even! I love that these shirts and items just feel like good things to wear. It doesn’t matter if you have one of my pedals, or even if you play guitar. There is a photo tee of my son that reminds me of an old 90s skateboard graphic. A “DRV” logo in the DeLorean DMC font, that turned out so cool and also has a similar 90s aesthetic. There is a white DeLorean shirt that is crazy minimal and clean, and the pullover jacket / windbreaker??? It is straight out of my dreams. The “Klon” shirt is funny, and if you are a certain type of guitarist, I think you’ll appreciate the joke. There is a giant print of a DRV pedal that also feels like a 90s band tee or something. Are you catching the theme? lol. Lastly, the “okay!” dad hat is really an exciting concept to me. My idea for this is to one day turn it into “okay! skateboarding”, where it’s ok to be ok. Did I mention that I started skateboarding? It’s awesome and I love it entirely - post coming soon lol.
